What is the difference between Organizational and Individual certs?

The difference is in the vetting process and the result the end user sees. With an individual, we are confirming the identity of the person. With an Organizational developer, we will be confirming the identity and validity of both the organization and the individual. As a result, the types of documents requested will vary.

The result? An individual Adobe Air certificate will contain the name of a person only, i.e. signed by John Smith, while an Organizational Adobe Air certificate will contain the name of the person and the organization. i.e. signed by John Smith from ChosenSecurity.

This is especially useful when the end user is not familiar with the person but knows the organization.
