TC Business ID

TC Business ID is your ID for the Internet. TC Business ID enables you to generate digital signatures and exchange encrypted data.

 

With a TC Business ID, you can play it safe when it comes to business use of the Internet. You can receive encrypted messages and sign e-mails electronically. The electronic signature becomes invalid in the event of content manipulation or faulty transmission on the Internet.

TC Business ID is a personal certificate, which shows not only your name and your e-mail address, but also the name of the company; i.e. the certificate confirms not only your e-mail address as well as the certificate holder with the company. As a result, your e-mails are also clearly distinguished from SPAM or phishing e-mails.

You will be notified by e-mail before your certificate expires, so you can apply for a new certificate in time.


(Note: All email recipients are required to have digital certificates in order to exchange encrypted email) - In the case of TC Personal ID, there are minimal requirements in terms of proof of identity.

 

Trust Level

TC Business ID is available in class 2. With class 2, the certificate details are checked by verifying the organization through trustworthy third parties such as Dun & Bradstreet, and may require backup documentation proving existence of the organization. A valid copy of the applicant's ID card (state license) or passport is also required.

 

Please Note: to enroll online for a certificate it is required to generate a key pair on your PC locally. Therefore, set browser options to allow ActiveX controls (MS Internet Explorer only) as well as JavaScript enabled.

Note: If you intend to use this certificate with Microsoft products (i.e. Outlook, Office), make sure you use Internet Explorer to request the certificate. Otherwise, you will need to export the certificate from the other browser into Internet Explorer after receiving it.
